pack 87 somers point nj

Welcome !

Welcome to Pack 87! We are located in Somers Point NJ, chartered by the Lifegate Church. We are a very active pack, consisting of multiple boy and girl dens of all ranks. Come find out more about us at one of our Den or Pack meetings. All are welcome to attend!

Our Pack is family oriented and all of our activities are open to the whole family. Our Pack provides opportunities for families to play together, learn together, and to get to know each other better.  We encourage your entire family to become involved.

Pack 87 is all about having fun and while the scouts are having fun, they also learn new things, discover and master new skills, gain self-confidence and develop strong friendships.

Our priority is to bring the benefits of Scouting to more youth while remaining true to our mission.

The BSA’s mission is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law. We are excited to announce that our Cub Scouting program is now open to boys and girls. By welcoming both girls and boys into the program, even more youth will have access to the character development and values-based leadership that Scouting promises. If you have any questions, please contact us.

National Statement on COVID-19

Revised August 2021

The safety of our Scouts, volunteers, employees, and communities continues to be our top priority.  We must continue our vigilance to assure that youth and their families are safe while they enjoy the many benefits of Scouting.

We continue to follow the guidance from expert agencies and follow the measures that have become second nature to many – hand hygiene, masks, distancing, meeting in cohorts and remaining at home if you have symptoms or feel bad.

We encourage everyone to consult with their physician and get vaccinated. It is our best hope for returning to normalcy in our Scouting family.

The critical need of today is for all to understand the rationale for our caution and actions. Because of the pandemic, fewer youth have joined our Movement. To welcome new members and their families, we must demonstrate that we are safe and are concerned with the health of all. The success of the Scouting program depends on conducting regular meetings and activities in a safe and responsible way.

As always, please be mindful of the Scout Oath and Law as we continue to navigate a safe return to the activities we enjoy.
